Good evening!
This has been a lovely spring day. First, I spoke to my agent Stephanie on the phone this morning and she confirmed: my proposal is officially done! They are ready to start submitting it to publishers, so for the next month or so, it’s out of my hands! It’s weird, as this book has been my main project for three months…and now I just get to sit back and wait.
Of course, I’m finding ways to stay busy. I worked all through the morning. I have a new post on TechCoquette today and I updated the Frattiest Sorostitute blog with a user-submitted story from a girl who fratted so hard, she knocked out her front tooth. (Yes…I love what I do.)
When lunch rolled around, I decided to mix it up and make an omelet. But I suck at making pretty omelets, so it really was just scrambled eggs with a bunch of sh*t in it. I had a lot of salad ingredients left over from dinner last night, so the eggs included red and green peppers, mozzarella cheese, fresh basil, and onions. And while I was scrambling all that, I made toast, bacon, and an orange.

It was delicious and so filling! Nothing keeps me full like eggs and bacon.
After lunch, I had a friend-date with Jacki. Instead of going to Starbucks, I suggested we take advantage of the nice weather and go for a walk at the local trails. I haven’t been there since November, so it was great to enjoy the scenery again.

We hadn’t caught up in what felt like forever, and, as we walked and talked, we managed to kill an hour and a half! It just flew by…that’s the great thing about “exercising” with friends. Today was a no-cardio day for me anyway; I just wanted to get out and move…but I moved a lot! It was a great friend-date and a great way to get some sunshine, fresh air, and exercise. When I got home, my intention was to do Core Fusion for my arms and my abs, so that’s what I did right away, just to be sure I fit it in. Twenty minutes later, I was set with that, and feeling good. I’m pretty sure I got the motivation from all that bikini talk this morning!
For dinner, I wasn’t sure what to make. I felt like everything I wanted, I was just missing one ingredient and everything I had sounded boring. I started flipping through So Easy to get inspired and when I came to the recipe for an apple-cheddar quesadilla, I knew I had found my dinner! I chatted on the phone with my best friend Beth as I assembled it with provolone and American, a Granny Smith, and two 100 percent whole-wheat tortillas.

I was in the mood for fresh food, probably from afternoon adventures outdoors, so I also had some strawberries.

I consider this dinner a grown-up grilled cheese. It was quick and easy but it also turned things up a notch.
Actually, this whole day turned things up a notch! My lunch and dinner were big deviations from what I’ve been eating lately, as was my 90 minute walk. Maybe all the sunshine and spring fever is making me want to change up my routine, but I don’t know…it was just one of those days where I felt very good about life and wanted to keep it going by doing more good things! Talking to my friends, switching up my meals, breaking my routine a bit…all very good things.
I hope your day was equally good, or, if not, you are thinking of ways to make tomorrow better! Have a great night!
