Taste Testing: Kashi Warm Cinnamon Heart to Heart

by Rachel on 03/04/2010

I’m a big fan of Kashi, so I’ve hung out on their Web site a bit. One of the good things that comes from this is they often send me coupons and free samples! (And not because I am a blogger…because I love free food. Seriously check it out!)

The other day I got a free sample of their latest addition to the Heart to Heart crew: Warm Cinnamon!

I’m not a big cereal person just because cereal is one of those foods I can eat and eat…and eat. That makes it a bad snack option for me…and when it comes to breakfast, there are just things I prefer over cereal.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t crush a bowl when I want to!

I made this for a bedtime snack a couple nights ago, and I actually took a bite and exclaimed, “Oh, wow!” I was really surprised by how warm and rich the cinnamon flavor was. It was damn good. In my next bite I realized it was like Apple Jacks…if Apple Jacks married rich and got highlights and spent two weeks at a spa in Arizona. The flavor is just really rich and smooth.

The stats are good too…

I mean, it has a shit-ton of ingredients toward the end there, but it’s not the worst ingredients. And not only are they are healthy, they are heart-shaped, soooo…as far as cereals go, I’ll support!

I’ve found that only their Go Lean! line really fills me up, but their other cereals are delicious, too.

I thought the same thing the first time I tried these – healthy Apple Jacks! Score!

I got my sample too, although I’ve already gotten a couple boxes of it. It rocks w/ plain greek yogurt & almond butter!!

I’ll definitely have to try it on Greek yogurt because I prefer to eat cereal that way! Something about having it on milk turns me into a bottomless pit!!

I got a sample of that too! I haven’t tried it yet though…saving it for a special occasion??? I don’t know haha. I could pretty much be a Kashi representative, I love ALL their products especially the frozen dinners (Mayan Harvest sweet potato thing is to die for) I love how they use real ingredients, like how they colored this cereal with turmeric!

I loved the turmeric thing too!

I like Teri’s description of “healthy apple jacks”! I love apple jacks…not that I eat them any longer, because I’m all “healthy” now. :)

I have the SAME problem with cereal and milk, somehow not with yogurt! Im excited to try these though, I just ran out of the sunshine squares, or whatever they’re called!

I must say I am disappointed I can’t find those here in the Uk…
