Lemme Work It: 2/25/10

by Rachel on 02/25/2010

Good evening!

Despite getting off to a late start with breakfast, this day has been pretty great — and I wasn’t hangry, thank goodness.

For lunch, I had pumpkin oats, because, you know, it’s pretty standard over here. However, I did mix it up by adding dark chocolate chips to the mix? Does that count for breaking my food rut?!

Today when I was making this, I randomly discovered that a half-serving of dates (which is how much I use) has 4 percent of my RDA for iron. Welllllll….suck me sideways! Free gift with purchase!

On the workout agenda today was Core Fusion and a mini-spin (which just meant spin as long as I was in the mood for, but keep it under 30)! I was in the mood for CF, but for some reason, I felt rather weak the entire time. I realized this was because the room was about 10 degrees too warm. That, coupled with a serious need to shower, and I felt pretty nasty the whole time. The mini-spin was 25 minutes of all fast songs or power songs…but I definitely didn’t feel my fastest or most powerful. Oh well…it happens! And it was better than sitting on my ass!

After a much-needed shower, I felt better. I decided to combine leftover grilled chicken and leftover mirepoix to make lemon chicken and orzo soup. I didn’t know what to have with it but I settled on a Morningstar veggie burger, which I had forgotten I had. Those veggie burgers are so damn good! I made a sandwich on a whole wheat bun and sliced up a red pepper and an orange.

And the soup, of course!

That’s what I’m talking about.

All right, I’m off. Don’t forget that tonight is your last chance to enter to win a Fitbook! You have until 11:59 PM so get on it.

Have a great night!

I took Fred’s Core Fusion class last night and he definitely had the room heated up very warm!

omg Morningstars are my (not-so) guilty pleasure…If you pop it in the toaster oven after warming it in the microwave it will get all crispy and even MORE delicious!!

“suck me sideways”? I have never heard that before… may I borrow it?

Direct quote from one of the greatest movies of all time, “Dumb and Dumber.” You may indeed borrow from the Lloyd Christmas vernacular!
