I Wouldn’t Call This “Project Funway”

by Rachel on 01/26/2010

Today, like yesterday, I’m plugging away at The Spartanette Project. And you know what? It’s hard. I love to write, and I don’t mind talking about bad experiences…but writing about them is not a picnic! I mean, even though tequila stories 1-6 are highly entertaining — everyone has a tequila story, I have six from college alone — it’s still not fun to re-hash all the ways I ruined my life/let guys ruin it. This isn’t like some emo memoir or anything (when they are mixed into the bigger story it’s like no big deal) but sitting down to write one essay right after another really starts to wear on you!

So I’ve reached the point in my day when writing has made me start hitting Amazon for “How Not to Fuck Up Every Relationship” books…and that’s when I know it’s time for a lunch break!

Today for lunch I made a new go-to meal I tried out the other night, after a dinner fail. (Oh that’s peppermint extract? Not vanilla extract? You don’t say!) I was in the mood for both eggs and chips and salsa, so I made an egg quesadilla. It’s so easy. Just dice up some peppers and onions and heat them with some black beans until they are soft. Beat together an egg and an egg white and scramble the whole deal up. (No need to make it look pretty.) Then put it in a tortilla and top with a couple tablespoons of Mexican cheese.

Fold in half and cook on each side for about two minutes, then serve with tortilla chips and salsa, avocado, and a little light sour cream.

This works for breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

With lunch out of the way, and a nice break from Fraternity Memory Lane, I think it’s time lighten the mood! Do you ever have random dance parties? I don’t do it often, but oh my gosh, I need to move my ass right now! Sitting here writing all day is not good for my body. Today is a day off from the gym, but after hours of writing, it’s all I want to do. Still, rest days are necessary, and I think a dance party break is a good compromise.

This afternoon I am going to shoot a new episode of Shed Theater, and then probably do one more hour on TSP. I’m so close to being done, so I can’t lose steam! I am really excited for this week to be over because I know I’ll be done with the whole project and ready to move onto the next step!

Tonight I am going to do Core Fusion and then reward myself with the second hour of the Lifetime Original Movie “The Pregnancy Pact.” My DVR lost its connection midway through last night and I’m just like, “OMG, what is going to happen? WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO THE 15-YEAR-OLD BABY MAMAS? I HAVE TO KNOW!”

Keeping my eye on the prize! Have a great afternoon!

We were kind of dissapointed in the highly anticpated pregnancy pact movie…it was just ok. The end sort of sucks.

Hey Debbie Downer, don’t burst my LOM bubble!

Is it wrong that I thought the main character’s 17-year-old baby daddy was hot?
