OMG I cannot believe January is more than half over! What the hell?!
I hope everyone’s MLK Jr. days have been grand! Mine has been super productive, but sometimes productivity can make me crabby. Well, let me back up. I wasn’t very productive yesterday. I mean, considering I went out Saturday night and rolled in at 2 AM makes the fact that I got out of bed and went and Spun (? Sure why not??) for 30 minutes pretty holler-worthy. But the fact is, I was only up and raring to go so early because I wanted to go drink all day. Now, this is how MSU raised me, and I am very proud I could pull it off. Spinning was a success, and I really made myself proud because despite being very out-of-practice, my beer pong skills represented my alma mater quite well!
What was not a success is the fact that day drinking makes you tired and I was crashing at 9 PM! That meant I didn’t check a damn thing off my to-do list, and starting my week like that is NOT a good feeling. I’ve been very productive and I am catching up, but STILL.
One thing on the to-do list: RUN! It was my first run since the marathon, so I was excited! I just did three miles at my normal pace and it felt GREAT to be running again. I hit my flow within the first lap and had a really wonderful run. I could have gone longer because I felt so good, but I didn’t want to push it. My hip has been bothering me a little bit, and it’s only Monday, so I want to keep my muscles fresh for the rest of the week. After the run I did Core Fusion and then got back to being productive!
I have been eating very healthy all day, to balance the fact that I ate God knows how many beers yesterday! Yummy tummy smoothie, healthy soup, fruit, chicken and salad, nuts for a snack, lots of water and tea…I’m happy to say that even though I can still kill it at beer pong like I did as an undergrad, I don’t eat like I did back then! That’s helping me feel back and track and ready for the rest of the week.
Have a great Monday night!

Love it! I played beer pong this weekend too! Sometimes I just need to let out that inner spartan! So i have a spinning question for you . . . I just started doing it and while i had fun and I want to keep going, I’m not sure I’m going to be able to go anytime soon if I continue to be this sore! My pelvic area/crotch is STILL hurting and I spun saturday morning. Would it be nerdy if I used padding? like put a towel down or something? hahaha or do you just get used to it? I seriously feel like i had crazy rough sex all night long . . . all of the pain but none of the pleasure :\
Okay Carla we MUST be the same person! I spun on different bikes last week and I got sore in that area for the first time ever!! I was always the girl who never needed padding so I am NOT happy about this feeling (I completely agree on your analogy too LOL). I know you do get used to it after a few weeks but there is NO shame in using padding! I’m going to rock the padded seat today…seriously, I was sore in that area for DAYS!
