Oh Rachel, this made me snort oatmeal all over my computer! This “white seeming” Puerto Rican most enjoyed this. Shed Theater just gets better and better…
Can I add on the anthropological tip that Puerto Rican girls wear colors like black girls, nice bland sneakers like white girls, do both booty exercises and cardio (cause we want to be tiny in the waist and stomach with HUMONGOUS asses)–and we wear eyeliner for all activities including cardio and swimming? We don’t fear the water, if we’re liberated, cause we can get away with some frizz (as long as we don’t tell our straight-hair-obsessed moms).

If my shoes weren’t Asics, they would SO be kicks. Black with hot pink AND sparkles. I guess the Asics still confirm my white girl status, haha. Loved this!

Hahahah, this was amazing! That thing about Zumba is so true. One of my super-white friends LOVES Zumba and thinks it makes her exotic. She tries so hard to be ethnically diverse, bless her heart.
Can we please petition Asics to make black-girl shoes?? I think the girls at Black Girls Run could seriously lead the way on this!!

Girrrrlll!!!!!!! Too funny, you have totally made my day. Brings me back to school days when the black girls wanted me to be black and the white girls wanted to have me as the black friend. I agree with Laura Georgina, Shed Theater keeps getting better and better. Keep bringing it!

Oh, I hate it when the truth comes out about my white girl status! Good thing I was sans drink when you said ‘and you can say you have a black friend’. I used to workout like a mad woman. More out of guilt since the instructors all wanted to know ‘why I wasn’t taking their class’. I don’t like the machines, have no problem with the weights, but prefer pilates and yoga [hippie at heart]. Just joined a gym [very small], but am determined to make it work this time. I will be able to wear shorts this Spring/Summer. I will be able to wear shorts this Spring/Summer. Seriously!

Just thought that was HILARIOUS…especially ’cause I’m from a ghetto area in Southern California…my kicks are black & I usually always wear under the knee sweats with a purple or similarly colored wife beater! This is too funny…I guess that’s just what separates the West Coast from other parts of the country…the lines are a bit more blurred. On the other hand I wouldn’t be caught dead in white kicks or any colored outfit with the word “powder” in its name…no way! & white pants are a big no-no. Also I just bought a new duffel bag from Victoria’s Secret…it’s black “satin” …so yeah…flashy! Ha! Past the half point in the video though EVERYTHING you said was hilarious & SO true! You’re amazingly funny! & I love your awesome mixed girl bitchiness!
