HAPPY FRIDAY!!!
I am so happy it’s Friday. Yesterday I got through my 8 mile run which was the one thing hanging over my head; then I knew I could just get excited for the weekend. And, oh, how excited I am!!
This morning I was up early (it was not at all bright) for spinning. I had a smoothie, coffee, and PB & J English muffins. (Two because those things are 100 calories each and that just wouldn’t do!)

Breakfast with a side of Crackberry, obviously.
Feeling festive, despite the 15 degree weather, I put on my new bright red sports bra and put my red “Ho ho ho” ribbon in my ponytail. Cheesy? Yes. But I knew my spinning instructor and the over-35 set that makes up my class would appreciate this. And it made me happy whenever I caught sight of myself in the mirror. When you go to the gym at 8:30 AM in freezing weather and snow, I am pretty sure you can wear ribbons in your hair and relive your cheerleading days!
Class was great. Leslie is just so enthusiastic, and she really worked us today. The music was good too — we did jumps to “Hey Ya!” so it’s hard not to feel good after that. Lots of sprinting too, which was nice. After class, I cleaned up and headed to Target!! I had to get a few essentials for the weekend, and I didn’t go too crazy (I mean I did initially, but then I removed 95% of the items in my cart.)
By the time I got home, I was starving. I ate so early before class and then went and attacked my bike. I didn’t have the patience to cut veggies for a taco bowl, so I just went with oatmeal; I’ll do the tacos for dinner.
I started with pomegranate Greek yogurt from TJ’s…

I figured that would taste bad with pumpkin oatmeal, so I changed up my usual mix-ins a bit! I did a little vanilla extract, a half a banana, dried dates and cherries, sliced almonds, and white chocolate chips.

Every time I look at this bowl, the song “Big Pimpin’” just starts playing in my mind…and it looked very wintry and tasted pretty good.
This afternoon I have much to do: plan a few thing for the weekend and next week, do some work, blow dry my hair and do my nails, prepare some gifts, and, oh, pack all my stuff for Chicago! Ughgggh…packing! I am heading down to Royal Oak tonight for a bar night with my friends, and then getting up and leaving for Chicago at 9:00 tomorrow morning. (Ew…I know.) I am planning to do my last weekly run while I am in Chicago, so I have to collect all my gear. I figure if I’m hungover, it’ll help, and it’ll get me pumped for the holiday party tomorrow night. I am so excited to see my friends and get dressed up and be festive!!
Ahhh…OK time to get busy! Have a great afternoon!
