The Grateful Shed

by Rachel on 11/26/2009

My marathon training book suggests that on days when you’re having trouble zoning out and achieving flow on long runs, you play an alphabet game. Basically, you go through the alphabet and make a list. It can be any sort of list you want…food is always a good one, and Julia and I did movie titles on our run through the Washington monuments. During my run on Monday, I really needed a mental boost, so I decided to do the alphabet game with things I’m grateful for. I mean, I’m just appreciative of so many things, it was hard to narrow them down!

Apples, Apple, Aaron

Butterscotch, Blackberry

Cookbooks, Craigslist, Comments (!!)

David, the gay male version of me/other half/soul mate

Elizabeth, my very best friend

Food, Facebook, family, Friends With Benefits

G-mail, G-chat, Grandma

Health, holidays

Ipod!!!

Jordan, Julia, Jews (Srsly.)

Kisses (human, dog, Hershey’s…)

Lola (my dog), libraries

Michigan State, music, magazines, Mom

New York

Online shopping

Preston

Peace and Quiet when Preston goes to school

Running

Sigma Kappa Sorority!

Texting, tequila, treadmill, technology (my whole life, right there)

Umbrellas (What would my hair look like without them?!)

Virgin olive oil

Zippers

What are the 26 things you thankful for? Try to think about it at some point today!

Happy Thanksgiving!
