Trick or Treat!

Hmmm…..I feel like there’s something important happening today that I’m forgetting? Like, maybe an important date or something? Is today Boxing Day?

Oh right, it’s just, ya know, my favorite day of the year: Halloween!!!

I am actually up and raring to go, despite the fact that I was up last night playing hostess with the mostess. Hostessing is one of my favorite things to do, so I was pretty much beside myself. I love festivities, and last night was no exception.

And, oh, um, did someone order sushi?

I felt pretty happy with how my little roll turned out!

So…onto the party! I spent some time decorating, but it’s a 100-year-old carriage barn with three horse stalls. It practically decorated itself!

And then there was the food! You saw some of the goodies already, but here’s how it all came together…sooo much food! Two crock pots full of chili, to start, plus hot dogs for the little ones.

Math Girl and my mom, a Snow Day! (They are teachers.)

We had a lot of fun and the kids had a ton of fun; for me, it was just good to see my friends and to have a good excuse to cook delicious food for them! After the party, it hit me: I was so, so tired. (And hungry! I kind of forgot to eat much of all that food!) We all were; we came home and PTFO!

Now I’m up and at it with my oats and coffee, because I’m leaving for CHICAGO in a few hours! I’m taking a road trip with one friend and spending a couple days out there to see some of my other best friends. I am so excited; this is the beginning of my three-week friend trip!! Which means…I need to seriously pack.
