Lemme Work It: 10/23/09

by Rachel on 10/23/2009

I’m depressed.

So this morning got off to a good start! I was up at 7, and despite the pouring rain, made it to spinning. I haven’t been in a while and it felt great! I forgot how sexy it always makes me feel. There’s just something about it… I wish I could do it more, but I’m usually too tired/sore from running. I should try to find a way to fit it back in my schedule though, because it’s just so much fun to me!

After the class, I walked out of the gym and it was still pouring. I got to my car, grabbed my ipod, and went to turn it on. When I did…I did not like what I saw. The screen was just striped colors. I restarted it and now the screen looks like the sky: grey and cloudy!

Could it really have gotten wet?! It was at the bottom of my gym bag, in a case. I was outside for 30 seconds! I am so upset. I really just hope it’s a system malfunction, completely unrelated to the mini-shower. I just attempted to restore it, per the customer support team’s recommendation; it’s no surprise that it didn’t work.

What is my deal with technology this week? My USB ports on my Macbook shut down on Saturday, my Blackberry quit Sunday…seriously, world!?!

If I weren’t training for a marathon, I’d be tempted to just say “F it,” for a little while, but I don’t think I can get through running 30 miles a week without music. I’m going to the Genius Bar tonight to beg for mercy. If they won’t replace it, I think I am going to downgrade to a nano. I can get more storage space for less money, and while the Touch is awesome, I don’t need it.

Ugh. OK — pilates video, then shower time. I better rat my hair a little and wear a low-cut top. It’s time to get a little breathy and “Oh my god, you really are a genius!” at the Apple store. I better not have a chick.

I so feel for you. I *hate* it when technology does not cooperate. And didn’t you *just* get that over the summer?? If the breathy flattery doesn’t work, start demanding that they do something! That’s just ridiculous!

Yes I *just* bought it so it’s under warranty….unless it got wet. JASUYTAWSGVASHGVSFHGADSTDSARDGVJ.

My iPod got wet more than once and kept on chugging, so I can’t imagine that’s it. If you have to replace it, a nano is really good for working out, I’m told. I’m tempted to buy one too, but iPhone + iPod + nano seems a little bit, idk, ridiculous. : )

Hope it turns out okay!

Ahh okay good to know! And I don’t think you can have too many Apple products!

It’s now playing and I can’t make it stop. I buried it in the couch.

I’ve been through so many ipods. I have an itouch at the moment and I wish I would have bought the nano again. The itouch is great but it’s enormous and I don’t live it for the gym. I’m so high maintenance.

Yeah I didn’t realize how sweet the new nanos are!! I would be perfectly happy to have one in that ugly mustard color (it’s my fave).

Ack! I accidentally drowned my old iPod video a few years ago, and it was so, so sad. It made that frowny mac-face–the one with the Xs for eyes–and then never turned on again. I hope yours works again! Consider a shuffle, too–you can program in playlists down.

I wanted to write because of the first sentence–you’re not actually depressed, you’re upset/frustrated/angry/etc. It’s not very kind to people who have depression to use the word like that–it’s kind of like how kids say, “that’s so gay” when they mean “I dislike that.”
