Lemme Work It: 10/15/09

by Rachel on 10/15/2009

Gooood evening!

I hope your Thursday is going well. Mine just flew by, as did my Wednesday! I can’t believe October is already halfway over. (But…there’s still half left!)

Tuesday night I went to see David Cross which was so much fun! He’s just so good. Three hours of LOLs is a good three hours for me! Afterward, I went to coffee with my friends and we ended up staying until midnight. By the time I drove all the way home, it was after 1:00. And I still woke up at my normal time. Therefore…yesterday was a day of crabbiness. I got a ton done on The Spartanette Project, but I moved my workout to today, because I had a seriously splitting headache.

I got a bit more sleep last night, thank goodness, although not as much as I would have liked. Today I was up bright and early to get to work on TSP. And work I did. I’m becoming obsessed with it. I’d happily give up showering, sleeping, eating, and running to get it done in four days. (I think it’s going to take me about ten days when all is said and done.) Both yesterday and today, I had to force myself to stop around 2:30 to eat lunch. I’m usually making lunch at 11:59, so this is a huge difference — and some major devotion.

You know I’m usually a soup/wrap/veggies girl when it comes to lunch, but the past two days, I’ve completely broken this tradition and started having yogurt instead! I can’t explain why I had the sudden urge to change gears, but I think it’s a good thing. Yesterday I had peach Chobiani as the base of my meal, but it was my last one so today I had to mix it up. I had TJ’s chocolate yogurt, TJ’s low-fat granola with almonds (this might be my new addiction), and strawberries.

And I had a whole wheat English muffin with TJ’s almond butter.

I really like the midday yogurt meal! It takes less time to prepare, and even without all the veggies, it’s still surprisingly filling. It’s light, sweet…it just works!

After letting my food settle, I forced myself to shut my computer and unglue my ass from my chair so I could go run. I did four miles in my neighborhood and it was good — it’s amazing how short four miles feels now! The halfsie is on Sunday in Detroit! I may spin tomorrow, I may do a short run, or I may act like a vegetable and write all day. Hard to say at this point.

Have a great night!

I am surprised at how filling yogurt is, too. I’ve been on a plain chobani kick with a little bit of cinnamon and stevia mixed in and it’s quite satisfying.

Good luck with your run on Sunday…you are running that, right?
