When I was in Catholic school, I learned nice girls don’t give it up. WRONG!
I love free stuff and so I decided it’s time to give some away! I am going to have a little contest this week on the blog for a pimped-out Healthy Fall Snack Package! It will include some of my favorite snacks, treats, tunes, goodies, and whatever else catches my eye when I go strolling through Target (which is pretty much everything, in case you haven’t noticed). It don’t want to reveal all the details, but trust me — I am a damn good gifter. I can tell you it will include…the elusive canned pumpkin!
Yeah, you like that??
Pumpkin has returned to Wal-Mart, so it should be coming to a store near you soon; however, if you’re still in pumpkin Siberia and dying to make my baked pumpkin pasta, this will fix the problem!
There are multiple ways to enter!!
1. Leave a comment on this post saying something you love about fall.
2. Link to Shedding It & Getting It in your Facebook status and then come back and leave me a comment on this post telling me you did.
3. Tweet: A new @ShedItandGetIt giveaway!! A pimped-out fall snack package. Yes, there WILL be pumpkin! [Also tweet the link to this post and then come back and leave me a comment right here telling me you did.]
4. Link to this post in your blog and then leave a comment on this post telling me you did.
The contest will run from Monday Sept 28 (right now!!) to Friday Oct 2 at 6 PM. You can enter in each way every day until then. I’m not even going to deal with math at this point, but I think that’s a lot of chances to win! I’ll select one winner randomly from the comments on this post on Friday evening.
When you’re done blasting me with comments, I also need some help. Shedding It is nominated for a “Love This Site” Award on Divine Caroline, but it’s currently getting a booty-kicking. I need some votes! You have to register with Divine Caroline to vote, but I’ve been signed up with the site for a few months and they really don’t ever e-mail me. Also, it’s a just pretty good site! There are lots of women’s articles that you can get distracted reading and end up on there for a good hour or two. So here is the link….
I feel like Tracy Flick in “Election,” but please take the minute to vote! And don’t forget to comment, Tweet, plug, and maybe win!

There are a few things that I absolutely love about fall.
- Not sweating on my walk to work. Seriously, an outfit change is sometimes in order.
- Pumpkin!! The smell, the pie, the bread, and the Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
- Thanksgiving – family and food, lots of food. We typically roll with about 15-20 different dishes at our Thanksgiving. Got to love the variety!
I eat pumpkin puree 365 days a year. Apparently, there’s a problem with distribution in my town this month as I had to got to 4 stores to find some this weekend. I bought the entire shelf. No lie.
I love Fall. I bake non-stop with pumpkin. I love Halloween decorations and pink hooded sweatshirts and scarves. Oh, and 4 inch heeled boots.
And, I’m heading over to DC to give you my vote. Cheers!

I live in South Florida, so I don’t really get the full benefits of autumn. But I guess I just love that it’s starting to not be AS oppressively hot and irritatingly rainy anymore…
Linked, my dear.

College football!
And running outside with the changing leaves.
My favorite thing about fall is probably… McIntosh apples. That, and I love when it is warm enough to be walking outside, but not so hot that you’re “glowing.”

And I voted! I was already signed up with Divine Caroline and agree with you that it’s a site worth poking around on!

What I love about fall…besides getting to check out the cute Harvard boys that are back to school and swarming the city
-An excuse to actually go to my parents house for a fall home cooked meal.
-Lighting apple pie candels so I don’t get depressed when the sun sets at 6:30
-The many convos with your girlfriends of what you will all be for Halloween and where you will be party hopping.
-The excuse to go to a bar on a week night to watch baseball/football etc. because it is either the end or the beggining of the season.
-New boots!
-Pumpkin Ale
- being a total geek and downloading the thme song to Halloween on your cell phone even if it is just for a week
- Motivation to get in shape for the holiday season when you have to see your entire family for the first time since last year
As seen (above) I linked to the giveaway in my blog – I really want to win me some pumpkin! Sunflower Market was OUT the other day – heartbreaking!

My favorite thing about fall is warm fall clothing, and comforting fall foods!
My favorite part of fall is definitely living in New England and have picture perfect fall weather. I absolutely love the in-between summer and winter weather. I also love how the leaves changed into gorgeous, vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows. I love apple picking (and any food to do with apples!).
And I blogged about it! And I freakin’ love pumpkin baked goods! Ha.

I love all the trees~they turn such pretty colors!
I definitely appreciate fall in Michigan in a whole different way now that I’ve moved back from Georgia. My favorite things about fall would have to be football and tailgating, Cider Mills, sunny Saturdays that aren’t too cold but aren’t that warm, and candy corn!

Get Your Autumn On
Discover New Favorites with the Foods of Autumn
Heading back to school after Labor Day in my youth is one of my favorite memories. Not only seeing friends again, but also the glorious change in weather and yes, of course….football. Times have changed with the proliferation of year-round schools and thanks to Al Gore, global warming, but luckily autumn is still autumn. As I have grown older, the foods of autumn have found their place right next to my love of the grid iron. The shifting of seasons (yes, Virginia aka Al) there are still seasons and thankfully there are different foods to be enjoyed in each. A year of perfect weather sounds good at first thought until you realize all that would be lost i.e. skiing, a White Christmas, the fresh cut lawn of spring and the list goes on. The same holds true for food.
A crisp Saturday morning with Buttermilk Pancakes topped with a Fresh Apple Compote is as comforting as your old sofa with your favorite throw. I remember reading Cider House Rules by John Irving and his description of the apple orchards are forever etched in my mind. Do yourself a favor and head to your local market and buy a few different varieties and find a new favorite. I have a love of music and I cannot limit myself to listen to one genre or one or two artists. I love discovering new artists and sounds. The adventure in and of itself will help you keep a youthful spirit.
With apples in mind how about making a crumble with another of autumns wonders, blackberries. Try some blackberries over some yogurt or some Kashi cereal for a healthy taste treat. Blueberry Muffins. Blueberry Muffins. Blueberry Muffins. Did you hear me? Blueberry Muffins. I am into health, diet, and exercise, but I am not opposed to the occasional treat. This is true not only with sweets but also great dishes such as Southern Fried Chicken. You just don’t want to abuse your diet. Don’t have a blueberry muffin five days a week. Make it a point to have one this autumn season with a cup of yogurt and a glass of fresh orange juice. That is something to look forward to, not regret. We have been focusing on fruits but there are many autumn vegetables that need a shout out. Many root vegetables are available year round, but are at their best in autumn. Roasting some Fingerling Potatoes in Olive Oil with salt and pepper is a delicious side dish. Speaking of roasting, what is better than roasted Cauliflower with Garlic, Bleu Cheese, and Walnuts? The BBQ should still be used well into the autumn, so serve the Fingerling Potatoes and Cauliflower with Grilled Flank Steak.
Eggplant Parmesan with a side of Pasta or Ratatouille with some Crusty French Bread are just two great eggplant preparations. One of my favorite side dishes is sautéed Cabbage and Onions with grilled Fennel.
There are so many discoveries to be had this autumn season so get to the market and discover some new favorites.
Gosh, I have to pick just one thing? I guess it would be wearing boots and sweaters. Is that two things, oh well
Another thing to love about fall: sweaters. I missed them.
.-= Isha´s last blog ..A giveaway! =-.
I love the weather, the leaves, the sound of rustling leaves, and starbuck’s pumpkin spice coffee!
how do i love fall? let me count the ways! i love wearing sweaters and blazers. i love a slight breeze in the air. i love knowing the holidays are right around the corner. i love baking, and fall makes me feel like baking!

I just decided yesterday that fall has become my new favorite season. I love that I can go outside for a run at any time of the day and the weather will be enjoyable. The smell of fall weather and the unprecedented beauty of the leaves changing color and scattering the ground with red and orange confetti…there’s nothing like it.
Good morning! I linked to the contest on my blog today! I’m so gonna win this
.-= Veggie Booty´s last blog ..Fresh. =-.
And another thing I love about fall: “hot/cold” car rides. This is where we open the sunroof and turn the heated seats on. It’s the perfect combo.

I absolutely adore the fall! My number one, super duper favorite thing? The autumn leaves! The way that the leaves change their hues to bright orange, red and yellow and cover the hills just sheds a beautiful light over the season and perks up my mood instantly. Unfortunately I moved to Florida in 1996, so I have been away from my favorite part of the fall for a long time!! I miss the crisp fall air, and more than anything, I miss the changing of the leaves.
I love all things apple… especially honeycrisp apples and going picking at an orchard!
Fall… hmmm… what do I love about fall? Uh, HALLOWEEEEEEN.

We’re finally getting fall weather here in Central Illinois, and I love how colder weather actually motivates me to study. I’ve been having trouble working because it’s been like, 80 degrees and sunny every day. Now that it’s in the 50s-60s every day, I actually feel like I SHOULD be learning.
