Woo woo! Friday!!
Today was great. This morning I got up bright and early to spin. My instructor is in a half-ironman tomorrow (!!) so we had a “race day,” which was fun. Class absolutely flew by, which was nice! It was good to get a workout in, but I wasn’t in the mood to spend the day at the gym. We had the top off again and it was gorgeous outside, which felt great.
I rushed home to shower and get ready for my lunch and movie friend date! We went out to Panera Bread for lunch; I had my turkey sandwich on rye, chicken noodle soup, and an apple. It was so fun catching up on what people from high school are doing and reliving our fun times drinking in her parents’ basement. It’s so nice to have a good girlfriend in town, because my social life has been seriously dragging since I’ve been home!
After lunch we headed to see “Bruno.” How was it? One word: OMG. Go see this movie if you’re 1. not homophobic and 2. not offended by a lot of penises. It was hysterically funny, but complelely shocking and some people walked out. A few uber-straight manly men booed at the end; those are the exact people the movie mocks. It’s not for the faint of heart though!
My favorite thing about it was that Bruno is identical to my old boss at ELLE right down to the Asian boyfriend and perfectly smooth skin. There were so many moments when I just kept thinking of my old life and dying. Anyway, it was great to start the weekend off with so many laughs!
Tonight I am taking my aunt to Trader Joe’s. It’ll be her first time so I know it’ll blow her mind! I’m looking forward to a little road trip with her. She’s like my big sister because I grew up an only child and she was only three years older than me. We have lots to talk about because she had a baby six months ago and is looking great and working on losing the rest of the weight. I finally got her addicted to spinning and she and her hubs (my uncle Mike) bought their spinning shoes today. Love that! I’m so proud of them both!
