Topless Tennis and Tofu Thursday

Good evening! Happy Thursday!

Last night I met my two friends from high school for a drink and it was great. I had wine! I’ve cut way back on alcohol, so it’s nice now how one glass can make me feel all warm and toasty. I came home and was just unbearably tired, probably from all the chatting, so I called it a night!

Today was an off day, so I was excited to lounge around a bit this morning. I had oats, I wrote, I read, I relaxed. Lovely!

It was so nice and warm outside, my mom took the top off her Jeep. I really don’t like that car, and I usually don’t like convertibles, but I had a blast in it this morning when we went to pick Preston up from camp.

For lunch, I made a big bowl with my Amazing Salsa! It was so good: black beans, grilled chicken, and lots of veggies, plus a green apple-pineapple-watermelon salad for dessert. Perfection!

To be honest, I was dreading tennis this afternoon. Tuesday’s class wasn’t great, and it’s because I think one of the older guys in my class has been a little too friendly. He’s nothing but nice, but I got the feeling he was giving me more attention than anyone else, and I got very uncomfortable. I felt like I couldn’t relax and enjoy myself and I sure as hell couldn’t hit the ball. I was too stressed out feeling like he was watching me or thinking of ways to awkwardly talk to me.

Before I went to class I made a new cd for the car. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a way to play my ipod, so I’m stuck with the radio and the “Mamma Mia” soundtrack. Not OK. So I made my new cd and decided to drive the convertible–and I just rocked out with the top off. It was so gorgeous out and the music put me in a great mood. By the time I pulled up to the tennis courts, I wasn’t worried about any unwanted suitors. My 17-year-old tennis teacher told me she had been behind me the entire way; I know this means she saw me singing and dancing to “Disturbia.” No worries! Sparkles was back with a headband that had rhinestones on it (naturally) to keep her seriously mangy weave in place.

But class was really fun today! We played a game called “Olympics,” that involves a lot of running and was super fun. Everyone was having a great time. The class flew by and I managed to avoid any conversations in which I casually pretended to have a boyfriend. On my way home, I cranked up the new cd again and was in the best mood ever! I was so pumped that when I got home, I got super motivated and went for a 20 minute run-walk. I love when that spontaneous motivation happens!! I think I need to drive with the top off more often!!

For dinner, I wanted something light, so I made a big salad because I haven’t had one all week. I baked tofu crispies from Leah at Nutritionista’s recipe. While they were baking, I made a huge salad with greens, mushrooms, shredded carrots, chickpeas, peppers, broccoli and tomato-basil feta. I topped it with balsamic and flax seed oil and it seriously hit the spot.

I was still a little hungry so I had a gala apple to finish. I ate while watching the last few episodes of “Entourage.” I love this show!! I am so excited for the new season to start Sunday. I also caught some of “The Office.” It’s a LOL-fest over here.

Now it’s time for my special date with my mom–watching “16 and Pregnant.” It’s sad how much I’m looking forward to this!

Tomorrow I have Spinning first thing and then fun plans… lunching at Panera and seeing “Bruno” with one of my BFFs from eighth and ninth grade. Bruno pretty much IS my old boss, so I’m excited to see the movie and catch up with her.

Have a great night!
